Terms of service

The terms on which we provide driving lessons and practical instructor training.

Last updated: Draft - not yet reviewed

Draft pending legal review

This document is a working draft prepared as a starting point. It has not been reviewed by a qualified solicitor and must be checked against Passwise’s actual business practices, insurance and regulatory obligations before the site goes live.

About these terms

These terms apply when you book driving lessons or practical instructor training through Passwise Driving School. Company registration details and the registered address must be confirmed and inserted before publication.

Booking and confirmation

Submitting a request through this website is a request for tuition, not a confirmed booking. A booking is confirmed only once we have allocated an instructor, that instructor has accepted, and we have confirmed the arrangement with you.

We match instructors on the basis of coverage, capability and availability. Instructor preferences you tell us are treated as preferences and cannot be guaranteed. If we cannot meet one, we will tell you.

Eligibility

For learner driving lessons you must hold a valid UK provisional (or full) driving licence and meet the DVSA eyesight standard. You must bring your licence to your first lesson.

For practical instructor training you must hold a full driving licence and meet the requirements of the stage you are training for. It is your responsibility to confirm your own eligibility with the DVSA.

Prices and payment

Prices are as published on our prices page at the time of booking. We do not charge booking or administration fees.

Deposits may be required for intensive courses, packages and certain training services. Pre-purchased package hours are valid for the period stated at the time of purchase.

Payments are handled by our payment provider. Passwise does not receive or store your card details.

Changes and cancellations

Our cancellation policy sets out the notice period required to change or cancel a session without charge, and what happens inside that period. Please read it alongside these terms.

If we or your instructor need to cancel a session, we will offer an alternative time or a refund of any amount paid for that session.

Conduct and safety

Your instructor may end a session immediately, without refund, if you attend under the influence of alcohol or drugs, without a valid licence, or if you behave in a way that puts anyone at risk.

Learners must follow their instructor's directions at all times during a lesson. The instructor retains responsibility for the safe conduct of the session.

Training records

Where you take practical instructor training, Passwise records the training hours delivered and your trainer's notes so that you and your trainer can track progress. These are Passwise's own internal and customer records. They are not submitted to, or recognised by, the DVSA as official records, and we make no representation about how any third party may treat them.

Liability

This section must be drafted by a solicitor with sight of Passwise's insurance cover. Nothing in these terms will exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Complaints

If something has gone wrong, email hello@passwisedrivingschool.co.uk and we will respond. The complaints procedure and escalation route should be set out in full here before publication.
